In April 2018 the Ministry of Economic Growth and Job Creation launched a process for the development of the national spatial plan for Jamaica, including issues related to climate change; the project was established through a grant agreement between the Caribbean Development Bank and the government of Jamaica. The Planning Institute of Jamaica (PIOJ) and the Ministry have included work on the National Spatial Plan in its Adaptation Programme and Financing Mechanism for a Pilot Programme for Climate Resilience.
