Legal framework
The MSP Bill transposing the Directive 2014/89/EU was approved by the House of Representatives of Cyprus on 29 September 2017 and published in the Official Gazette of the Republic on 13 October 2017 as Law 114(I)/2017.
Law 114(I)/2017 was amended by Law 34(I)/2021 published in the Official Gazette of the Republic on 23 March 2021.
Furthermore, a set of subsidiary legislation, namely The Maritime Spatial Planning (General Provisions) Regulations of 2021 (P.I.132/2021) and The Maritime Spatial Planning (Public Consultations) Regulations of 2021 (P.I.133/2021) were published in the Official Gazette of the Republic on 26 March 2021.
