As part of the preparatory process of the United Nations Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development (2021-2030) and in the framework of the MSP Roadmap, a technical workshop on coastal vulnerability in Central Africa is organized in Libreville (Gabon). The overall objective of the workshop is to identify solutions and recommendations based on Integrated Coastal Area Management (ICAM) for decision-makers at national and regional levels to respond to challenges in coastal and marine environments.
Sessions will cover topics such as a presentation of the IOC-UNESCO ICAM strategy, current situation of ICAM implementation at national level and proposed actions to reduce coastal vulnerability at national level (including technical and financial aspects).
The workshop is co-financed by the Government Offices of Sweden.
