MSP Initiatives

Marine / Maritime Spatial Planning (MSP) is a public process of analyzing and allocating the spatial and temporal distribution of human activities in marine areas to achieve ecological, economic, and social objectives that are usually specified through a political process. MSP adoption is increasing worldwide (in August 2018 about 70 countries were preparing or had prepared MSP plans at the regional, national or local scale), however, many regions / countries / municipalities still need support to adopt it or to fully implement it where the process has already started.
